Discipleship

In the Great Commission to the church, Jesus said, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you..."

The Great Commission of Jesus Christ is not simply to lead people to Christ and then to baptize them. Rather, a third and very important step is also necessary: "teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have said unto you." The Great Commission is all about training, equipping, edifying, and educating believers in Jesus' teachings and the Word of God.

We have a 16-week discipleship program that gets individuals and families off to a good start in learning the basics of their Christian walk.  Its topics cover things like how to study the Bible, prayer, the importance of the local church, overcoming sin, and many others.

Most of the time, this is done once-a-week, in each person's own home, and with a personal guide to teach them.  Each lesson lasts about an hour, and includes some very easy homework.  The benefits are tremendous, including learning how to have private family devotions at home, for those who don't know how to begin one.

Joe & Hannah West are our discipleship leaders!  They would be more than happy to help you and your family in this endeavor.  All that's required is that you and your family are faithfully attending all services during the 16 weeks (that are not providentially hindered by work... or other necessary things).  This requirement demonstrates commitment will help you and your family to grow in your faith at an even quicker pace.
